Grading & Credit Policy

The credit assignment for the successful completion of the following courses:

1. Full-year course: 5 Credits (meeting five days a week for a minimum of 200 minutes but less than 300 minutes).

2. Science courses with labs: 6 credits

3.  Half-year course (one semester):  2 1/2 Credits (meeting five days a week).

4.  One marking period course (one quarter):  1 1/4 Credits (meeting five days a week) and 1 credit (meeting four days a week).

The Satellite School will receive l5 credits with satisfactory completion of each program in each school year.  A double period course (i.e. Physics and Technology) is issued 10 credits.

Evaluation is based on evidence of the attainment of the instructional and performance objectives for the subject.  The following symbols are used to report progress:

The following criteria will be considered in determining grades:

 1.The student’s completion of work on time.

 2. Participation in class.

 3. Completion of homework.

 4. Ability to work independently.

 5. Efforts to evaluate and improve his/her work.

Incomplete work: Incomplete work at the end of the grading period, semester, or year is recorded as an I.

To be listed on the High Honor Roll requires grades of "A" in all subjects, Honor Roll requires grades of "A" and/or "B" in all subjects.

Students who have an incomplete mark at the time the honor rolls are determined, will not be included on such rolls.
