There is no formal application process for ninth grade honors science placement. Every student is evaluated for ninth grade honors science placement using the following criteria:
• A placement test will be administered by the middle schools in January.
• A common rubric will be used by current eighth grade science teachers to evaluate their students’ academic performance.
• Students’ 1st and 2nd trimester grades in their eighth grade science course should average at least a 90.
• Students should be enrolled in Geometry in the 9th grade.
